CBIRT’s David Kracke, JD was recently recognized by his alma mater, Lewis & Clark Law School, for his work with WildAid. WildAid aims to decrease global consumption of wildlife products and increase local support for conservation. In Oregon, David was instrumental in writing the law banning shark fin soup as well as the 2017 law that increased fines for poaching Oregon wildlife; specifically bears and cougars. It is David’s belief that Earth’s animals should be recognized as possessing certain rights, primarily the right to exist without the danger of extinction.
