CBIRT Launches New ED/MED Collaboration Seminar Series
The Center on Brain Injury Research and Training (CBIRT) has officially launched its Education/Medical (ED/MED) Collaboration Seminar Series, an exciting new initiative designed to foster stronger connections between educators and medical professionals supporting students with brain injuries. The inaugural session, held on March 5th, was a tremendous success and set the tone for a series focused on practical collaboration and expert-led learning.
This innovative monthly seminar series was created in response to a conversation with the Oregon TBI Educational Team, who shared their desire for more direct access to field experts and the ability to ask real-time questions. Their request reminded CBIRT of the impactful calls once hosted by Viviane Ugalde, MD, and inspired the revival of this valuable resource.
Bridging the Gap Between Education and Medicine
The ED/MED Collaboration Seminar Series is designed to bridge the gap between educational and medical professionals working with students who have sustained traumatic brain injuries (TBI). By connecting participants with leading experts in brain injury research, rehabilitation, and education, the series aims to provide practical insights that improve student outcomes both in the classroom and in healthcare settings.
Each free, hour-long session includes a 30-minute expert presentation followed by a live Q&A session, offering attendees the chance to ask questions and learn from real-world experiences. This is the time where the experts also can learn and ask questions of the participants. Time is made for all individuals on the call to exchange information and ideas. The presentation section of each of each session is recorded for those who can’t attend the live event.
